In February 2008 I wrote a Blog titled “Realtor Employed and Doing Well.” This is an update.
I would like to report that real estate sales are doing better than ever. I’ve actually closed more sales by May 2009, than I did all of last year. And I know there are other Realtors experiencing the same increase in sales. As recently reported, sales in the month of March 2009 in Southern California were up 47% over a year ago.
If you listen to the news, stocks are also making a nice recovery these past few months. Word is being whispered around the water coolers, “I think we’ve finally hit the bottom.”
And when discussing bottoms………they are referring to BOTH the real estate bottom and stock market bottom.

So…if you are one of those overly conservative buyers who’ve been trying to “time the market,” I’d advise you to jump in now. There’s never been a better time to buy. Prices have adjusted downward and interest rates are lower than I’ve ever seen them.
Sadly, this is not a happy time for sellers. They’ve watched their home values go steadily downward these past four years…………..and I would advise all sellers who do not have to sell, to take your homes off the market and WAIT for this trend to reverse itself. It always does. It’s just that we do not know when prices will start rising again. And when they do, it will probably be at a much more normal pace than we saw in the mid 2000’s. The crazy upward trend we experienced in the early 2000’s was NOT normal, and we’ll most likely never see this again…………at least not for a good long time.
